"From Farmer's Son to Cricket Star: The Incredible Journey of Shubman Gill"
Shubman Gill is a very talented Indian cricket player. He is a right-handed opening batsman who plays for the Punjab team in domestic cricket and the Gujarat Titans team in the Indian Premier League. He was also the vice-captain of the Indian Under-19 cricket team in the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and was named the Player of the Tournament. He is very young but has already achieved many great things, like scoring the highest score for the Indian men's T20I team and being the youngest cricketer to ever score a double century in One Day International cricket. He made his international debut for the Indian cricket team in January 2019.
PERSONAL LIFE -
He comes from a family of farmers in a village called Chak Khere Wala in Punjab. His father Lakhwinder Singh was a farmer but he left farming to help Shubman become a professional cricketer. Lakhwinder even made a cricket ground and pitch for Shubman to practice on. Shubman has a sister named Shaheen Gill. When Shubman was a kid, he liked farming too, and he still wants to do it someday. He spent some years of his life in his village and he loves it very much.
EARLY LIFE -
He was born in Fazilka, Punjab, and his family owned agricultural lands there. His father, Lakhwinder Singh, wanted to become a cricketer but couldn't, so he decided to help his son become a good cricketer. Shubman loved cricket from a very young age and would practice with the help of the farm's workers. His father noticed his talent and moved the family to Mohali, near the PCA Stadium. Shubman scored a double-century on his Under-16 state debut for Punjab, and in 2014, he scored 351 runs and shared a record opening stand of 587 runs with Nirmal Singh.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER -
Shubman Gill is a cricketer from Punjab, India. His dad wanted to be a cricketer, but he couldn't. So he decided to make Gill a good cricketer. Gill was passionate about cricket since he was three years old. He practiced a lot and was part of the Indian U-19 team, where he played well and was named the player of the tournament. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in January 2019 and his Test debut in December 2020. Gill scored his first ODI century in August 2022 and his first Test century in December 2022. He also scored a double century in January 2023 in an ODI against New Zealand and a century in a T20I against New Zealand and Australia.
IPL JOURNEY -
Shubman Gill made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2018, playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders. He was bought for Rs 1.8 crore and played his first game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Garden, Kolkata. In 2022 he was picked by Gujrat Titans and played a key role in the season by winning the title. In 2023, he is retained by the Gujrat Titans and will see what this great emerging youngster will do in the season which is going to be start on 31 March 2023 with their openning IPL match with the great CSK.
